Madhubani

Madhubani

Madhubani painting is one of the many well-known Indian art traditions. It is known as Mithila or Madhubani art since it is practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar and Nepal. These paintings, which are often characterised by complicated geometrical patterns, are notable for depicting ceremonial material for certain events such as festivals, religious ceremonies, and so on. Madhubani paintings typically employ colours obtained from plants and other natural sources. These hues are frequently vivid, and pigments such as lampblack and ochre are employed to create black and brown. The paintings are made with materials such as twigs, matchsticks, and even fingers rather than modern brushes.
