Sweeta Rai

Coming from the cultural capital of India, Varanasi, Sweeta Rai accomplished the Bachelor's Degree from Kashi Vidyapeeth Masters in Fine Arts from Sir J.J School of Arts. Her work has been displayed at many exhibitions in the most renowned museums like Jehangir art gallery, Lalit Kala Academy and also in many group shows in India and abroad. She has also been awarded the national level award from South Central Zone, Art Society of India and Camlin.The spontaneity and freedom in her work was also recognised by the Ministry of Culture, where she was awarded Junior research fellowship. Sweeta’s work is essentially autobiographical as one can notice the reminiscences of her childhood as well as her everyday experiences. With constant evolution and consistent experimentation in different mediums and forms, Sweeta explores different layers of the human mind, inner consciousness and other feelings like abandonment, emotional turmoil, agony, dream and desire. Nature is what inspires her the most and fills her canvas with energetic and vibrant colours.
